General Terms and Conditions for Participation in the 2018 International Cyber Operations Symposium at the KAMEHA Grand Hotel, Bonn, on 10 October 2018


The International Cyber Operations Symposium is hosted by the German Cyber and Information Domain Service Headquarters, Johanna-Kinkel-Str. 2-4, 53175 Bonn, and AFCEA e.V., Borsigallee 2, 53125 Bonn (symposium organizer).

The following General Terms and Conditions apply to the contract concluded between symposium organizer and participant.

Registration Fees

Registration fees are € 40 per person and event.

Symposium Registration

Registration is via the Internet on our homepage only. Completion of the registration process is the participant’s binding commitment to attend the symposium. Upon completion of the registration process, the participant will receive an acknowledgment of receipt of the registration. Registration and acknowledgement of receipt email will be no entitlement to attend the event. After availability has been checked, the participant will receive an email in due time confirming the attendance of the event, including an invoice and details of payment. With the confirmation of attendance a contract with the symposium organizer will be concluded.

Terms of Payment

Registration fees are payable within 14 days of receipt of the invoice via our PayPal account only. (Payment via PayPal is possible with credit card or bank transfer; participants must not have their own PayPal account to make the payment). If payment is not made in due time, the slot will be made available to other applicants. Admission to the symposium is dependent upon payment.

The symposium organizer reserves the right to change the agenda of the event. This does not entitle participants to cancel their attendance or reduce the registration fees.


Cancellation of attendance is possible in writing until 23 September 2018 at no charge. For late cancellations, the full registration fee will be charged as cancellation fee.

Videos, Photos and Sound Recordings

Symposium participants agree to the generation and dissemination of videos, photos and sound recordings of the participants for official reporting and promotion purposes.

The symposium organizer and accredited members of the press have the exclusive right to record the event (or parts thereof) for journalistic purposes.

Applicable Law and Language

This is a translation of the German General Terms and Conditions and therefore subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any translations prepared of the German text are intended as a guide only. For questions of dispute or interpretation, the German version of these General Terms and Conditions shall be decisive.

Privacy Clause

The symposium organizer shall exclusively use the required personal data provided by the participants for the purpose of executing pre-contractual measures and the fulfillment of the contract in terms of registration, event organization and billing.

Any additional information provided by the participant is voluntary.


Upon registration you agree that the data you have provided voluntarily shall be used by the symposium organizer for the purpose of organizing and conducting the event. Participants can revoke the processing of the data they have voluntarily provided at any time and for future use without stating any reasons.

Participants have the right to obtain information regarding their personal data. Participants can have incorrect data corrected, data erased under certain conditions, restrictions imposed on the use of their data, and can assert the right to data portability. Participants, moreover, have the right to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority for data protection, if they believe that the use/processing of the personal data is in violation of the pertinent regulations.

No personal data shall be made available to third parties.

Any and all personal data shall only be stored for as long as this is necessary to prepare, organize and conduct the event.
